Oleme koos juba 20 aastat. Selle ajaga on kogunenud päris suur hulk laule - Eestist ja Setomaalt, vadjalastelt ja isuritelt. Laulud on pärit peamiselt Eesti Rahvaluule Arhiivi kogudest. Krabisevatelt vaharulli- ja plaadisalvestustelt kostab üks teistmoodi helimaailm, kõlamaastik, mis praeguseks suuresti kadunud ja kõrvale esmakuulmisel võõraski. Seda suurem on sellega tuttav olemise rõõm.

Lauludega on nii, et ühest küljest on nad vanad. Oleme nad ju arhiivilindistuste järgi õppinud ja püüame laulda nii, nagu lauldi vanasti. Meile meeldib nii. Teisest küljest on need laulud just nüüd, siin ja praegu. Need on meie laulud ja meie oleme uued.

Väike Hellero has been singing together for 20 years. We have gathered quite a number of songs over these years - songs from Estonia and Setoland, from Izhorians and Votians. They mainly come from the collections of Estonian Folklore Archives. The crackling wax rolls and gramophone records echo a different soundscape, lost for the most part, strange and exotic for the modern listener. All the bigger will be the joy of getting acquainted with this world that refuses to fade away.

The songs themselves date back many centuries. We have learned them from recordings and try to sing them as they were sung originally. We like it that way. On the other hand, these songs are alive right here, right now. They are ours and we are new.
